Job Description:
Duties FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER (T32)--- Organizes,
administers and evaluates a segment of the fuel's quality assurance
program for the organizationEnsures responsibilities for product
compliance inspections of all petroleum activitiesDraws fuel
samples for frequencies and exact testing following procedures
listed in appropriate technical ordersDetermines status and
adequacy of actions taken on prior inspection items and prepares
accurate reports for management useConducts statistical surveys of
petroleum products in areas where trouble had been
encounteredAnalyzes defect data, isolates trends and recommends
corrective actionInvestigates problem areas, identifies causes,
recommends and takes corrective follow-up actionAdvises responsible
supervisors on quality problems and required corrective
actionProvides technical assistance to personnel in assigned
organization in order to improve quality and enhance safety of
equipment and workers using productsPrepares local operating
procedures based on supplements, regulations, and manuals of higher
echelons in the area of quality assuranceAssists in managing fiscal
resources for support of the quality assurance programConducts
laboratory analysis to determine that physical and chemical
properties of products are within specification use limitsOperates
precision measuring instruments and analytical equipment designed
to measure the effectiveness of mechanical systems and petroleum
handling hardwareTests various petroleum, cryogenic samples for
total solids and microscopic analysisExtracts samples from selected
source throughout the base and submits to area laboratory for
pollution control and correlation testingMust conduct surveillance
inspections during operations of components in pump house and tank
farms during receipt, transfer, sampling and issue of petroleum
products.--- Directs, inspects, operates and maintains a complete
fuels distribution systemOperates petroleum products distribution
equipment controlling the movement and storage of supplies
throughout complete pipeline or tank farm systemsPerforms operator
maintenance to include checking components for operation,
adjustment, pressures, and external leakage under pressure,
removing/cleaning/inspecting receipt and dispensing
strainersReports more extensive repairs/needsReceives and transfers
fuel by coupling and uncoupling hoses, closing and opening valves,
starting and stopping pumps, monitoring gauges, meters and filter
separatorsMaintains hazardous waste management program, to include
initial accumulation points maintenance & inspectionsConducts all
additional required environmental inspectionsDirects and
coordinates disposal with Base Environmental Manger.--- Operates
one or more types of special purpose design aviation and ground
fuel tank truck vehicles having a capacity of up to 6,000 gallons
and gross vehicle weight of 70,000 pounds used for
fueling/defueling various types of aircraft and ground fuels
applications such as AGE, power production, heating and engine test
cellsTransports fuel from the bulk storage area to the flightline
issue point, positions the vehicle for the refueling/defueling task
as requiredMonitors vehicle mounted main control panel, gauges,
meters and instrumentsOperates deadman control safety system and
coordinates with personnel at the aircraft or receiving
pointExercises safety precautions during fueling/defueling
operationsInspects and performs operator maintenance and safety
checks to ensure that refueling equipment is safe and
operational.--- Operates, inspects and performs all required
maintenance and repair on cryogenic storage tanksTroubleshoots,
tests, and repairs all aspects of mechanical& electrical systems
and their subcomponents to include AC generators, complex wiring
harnesses, regulators, automatic relays, AC and DC power generation
circuitry, electrically controlled solenoidsUtilizes electrical
test equipment to monitor system functionality and make
repairsInspects minor repairs to support equipment and cryogenic
samplers to include the following: air purging units, vacuum
gauges, vacuum pumps, portable efficiency meters, portable samplers
and other support equipment that is required to maintain the
cryogenic storage tank in a ready condition to receive, store and
transfer LOX or LINApplies safety or precautionary procedures
required in handling cryogenic fluidsAnalyzes, isolates, and
corrects system malfunctionsPerforms preventive maintenance on
components and tanks, to include inspectionsEnsures that parts are
cleaned and certified as suitable for oxygen/nitrogen
servicingMaintains inspection and maintenance records and performs
quality control of cryogenic products.--- Performs other duties as

Factor(s): This is an Excepted Service position that requires
active membership in Texas National Guard (TXNG) and wear of the
military uniformApplicants who are not currently a member of the

Experience : To qualify at the WG-09 grade level your resume must
include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of
employment experience reflecting at least 18 months experience or
training operating, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and
overhauling fuel systems and componentsAND Experience or training
initiating and controlling the movement and storage of fuel
supplies by operating high pressure systems with a series of
terminals connected by cross-country pipelines or multi-fuel
storage and distribution facilities connected by a network of
internal pipelinesAdditional information Additional Remarks:--- May
be required to successfully complete a probationary period.--- This
