The Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk is looking for a dynamic,
creative, and motivated Event Sales Manager to join our vibrant
team. The Grand Hyatt consists of 1003 guestrooms and 115,000
square feet. We are seeking a motivated and creative new leader to
take advantage of unique opportunities to impress and delight our

The Event Sales manager is responsible for capturing local catering
business (Corporate E vents, Association Events, G alas, Holiday
Parties and and Weddings ) while maximizing banquet space to meet
and exceed sales goals. Primary sales efforts are in banquet food,
beverage and room rental to include but not limited to: selling and
servicing, conducting hotel tours, tastings, menu planning, agenda
setting, and hotel meeting services. Duties also include contract
review and facilitating communication before, during and post event
with pertinent hotel staff and clients to ensure a high level of
service. This is not a remote position and hotel presence is
required.

Qualifications:
--- Bachelor's degree and/or 3 years of hotel and/or food &
beverage experience preferred
--- Must be experienced in general computer knowledge and
programs
--- Refined verbal and written communication skills
--- Present a professional appearance and confidence
--- Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, organized and
be able to handle a fast paced environment
--- Strong time management & multi-tasking skills with the ability
to work well under pressure
--- Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire
employees to exceed standards and expectations
--- Experience in creative development of marketing concepts,
custom proposals and promotional events to increase local event
sales
--- Understanding of negotiation and interpretation of
contracts
--- Have comprehensive knowledge of all operational departments
within the hotel; guest services, reservations, housekeeping, audio
visual, banquets, accounting, restaurants and engineering
--- Knowledge of meeting room set-ups and capabilities, sleeping
room configurations and types
--- Responsible for increasing overall revenue per attendee by
upselling techniques, rooms management strategies, value added
offerings and other creative methods
--- Manage meeting space and adjust in order to ensure maximum
potential revenue
--- Maintain price integrity both in rooms and food and
beverage
--- Relay accurate forecast information for rolling forecasts
--- Manage retention, reactivation and acquisition accounts to
capture future business
--- Adhere to prospecting standards and goals
--- Engage with meeting planners, outside vendors on set-up details
for events
--- Timely follow up with internal and external clients
