Be part of what truly makes us special and impactful.The OpportunityThe Bank Data, Analytics and Modeling (BDA&M) organization is responsible for all data, analytics, and modeling functions for USAA Federal Savings Bank (FSB). The org leads identification, development and implementation of data and analytics initiatives for all Product, Marketing, Risk and Operations domains including Data Strategy and Architecture, Data Management, Data Governance, Data Delivery, Analytics & Insights, and AI/ML/GenAI Model Development.The role of Executive Director, BDA&M Strategy and Operations is a critical leadership role reporting directly to the SVP, Chief Analytics, Member and Innovation Officer. As the glue connecting the BDA&M org internally and externally, the role will oversee Cross-Bank Analytics, Data IT Portfolio Management, Strategic Program Management, Chief of Staff functions, and Analytic Tools Strategy. In addition, the role will be responsible for setting the overall strategy for the BDA&M organization, establishing data and analytics capability roadmaps, strategic planning, developing vision and priority documents for consumption by Bank Leadership Team, USAA Executive Committee, and USAA/ FSB Board.We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Charlotte, NC.What you'll do:

• Responsible for strategic, tactical, operational, and financial responsibilities associated with CoSA data storage, data preparation, data exploration, information governance, analytics, and information delivery.
• Leads the strategy of the sub-functions by establishing and executing a vision for the delivery of information and analytics platforms and solutions to the business' key stakeholders and cross-CoSA partners.
• Responsible for successful end to end process of information management, analytics and delivery.
• Provides thought leadership and participate in developing talent across the USAA Data and Analytics Community.
• Keeps current of industry leading practices and advances in data and analytics as well as the business associated with the assigned CoSA.
• Leads the team(s) in the development of new techniques and best practices that deliver effective reporting/analytics to meet goals and objectives that align to strategy.
• Responsible for overseeing the implementation of processes and procedures within a CoSA in adherence with Information Governance policy and standards.
• Responsible for the development of a successful team's training/education plans, automated systems, technical tools, staffing/organizational requirements, and expense budget.
• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.What you have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering or other quantitative field (e.g. finance or a social/behavioral science); OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 10 years data and analytics related experience, driving results in a complex financial services organization.
  • 4 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals.
  • Executive-level business acumen in the areas of measuring business outcomes, business operations, industry practices and emerging trends.
  • Experience leading projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Experience conducting large scale data analysis using internal and external data to support business decision making.
  • Proven ability to tell a story through data and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • Ability to understand business requirements, KPIs and convert into analytical hypothesis in a structured and logical manner along with solution identification.
  • Experience with large complex database systems & architecture, structured & unstructured data; with diverse analytics methodologies and approaches; expert ability to connect data/metrics to business metrics/results.
  • Deep understanding of risk management and compliance practices with experience developing data strategies that mitigate risk.What sets you apart:

    • Experience managing and optimizing large IT investments portfolios and budgets within a financial institution

    • Hands on experience in data management, reporting, business analytics, and modeling
    • Experience leading data risk management programs and/ or model governance oversight
    • Strategic ability to connect the dots across multiple product and operations areas to identify high-value opportunitiesWhat we offer: Compensation:The salary range for this position is: $195,230.00-351,410.00 .USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive.
